A 35-year-old man died early Sunday after wrecking a utility vehicle outside his home in Demorest.
Around 4:12 a.m., Habersham County 911 dispatched first responders to 500 Mineral Springs Trail. When they arrived, they found Ryan Jonathan Surls dead in his driveway with an OHV Polaris Ranger next to him.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Surls was DUI when he overturned the UTV in the driveway and was ejected. County coroner Kasey McEntire says Surls died as the result of a head injury he sustained in the crash.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this tragic time,” says McEntire.
