An afternoon wreck on Habersham Mills Road in Demorest sent two people to the hospital.

State troopers say Terrell Stinchcomb, 57, of Clarkesville, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee south on Habersham Mills Road when he lost control of the vehicle. The SUV traveled off the left side of the roadway just past the Soque River bridge and ran approximately 50 feet down an embankment.

Stinchcomb and his passenger, Cathy Stinchcomb, 49, also of Clarkesville, both sustained possible minor injuries. Habersham County and Demorest firefighters responded to the scene. They had to use ropes to access the patients so they could extricate them from the vehicle and pull them to safety.
