Two Toccoa women, Lavonia man charged with trafficking meth

Three people are in jail on drug trafficking charges after officials seized approximately a pound of methampehtamine in a drug investigation in Franklin County. 

18-year-old Samantha Breanna George and 38-year-old Keondra Latrice Smith, both of Toccoa, were arrested Wednesday along with 37-year-old Kenyta Greene of Lavonia. Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies and agents with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) took them into custody. The Royston Police Department also assisted with the investigation.

All three suspects are charged with trafficking meth. Green is also charged with selling methamphetamine and Smith faces several traffic charges in connection with the case.

The methamphetamine seized by law enforcement officials has a street value of approximately $6,000, according to ARDEO Special Agent in Charge Trent Hillsman.

All three suspects were transported to the Franklin County jail.
