Suspects remain jailed on armed robbery charge

Two suspects arrested over the weekend for armed robbery in Cleveland remain in jail without bond.

22-year old Giovanni E. Annucci-Romero of New Jersey and 22-year old Terrisa Thammavongsa of Alto are charged with armed robbery in the May 23 holdup at the Chevron Convenience Store on East Kytle Street.

Annucci-Romero also is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and wearing a mask, hood, or device to conceal his identity

Witnesses told officers a man, later identified as Annucci-Romero, entered the store, displayed two guns, and demanded money. He then fled in a white car driven by a woman with dark hair.

Cleveland Police responded to the call at 6:24 p.m. on May 23. They issued a lookout for the suspects and car. Habersham County Sheriff’s deputies stopped the vehicle less than two hours later. They recovered the money and guns that were used in the robbery, according to Cleveland Police Lt. Donna Sims.

In addition to armed robbery, police charged Thammavongsa with driving on a suspended or revoked license. She and Annucci-Romero were both booked into the White County jail.

No bond has been set. No one was injured during the incident.
