Two Smyrna, GA, men are behind bars following the latest bust by the regional drug task force.The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) arrested 36-year old Louis Alberto Ocsio-Green 29-year old Manuel Aljandro Rodriguez Thursday during an interdiction stop at the intersection of Hwy 441 and Holyfield Connecter.
According to a press release issued by ARDEO, Rabun County Authorities seized approximately 1 grams of heroin, 50 grams of methamphetamine and $5,550. The street value of the illegal narcotics is approximately $5,900.
Ocsio-Green was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by convicted felon. He’s also charged with crossing of guard lines with weapons, intoxicants or drugs without consent of the Warden or Superintendent.
Rodriguez was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of firearm by a convicted felon and driving with a suspended license.
Ocsio-Green and Rodriquez were transported to the Rabun County Detention Center.
Thursday’s arrests are the latest in a string of drug busts by ARDEO and local authorities. This past Monday, a Rabun County man and woman were arrested on various drug charges following a four month long investigation.
