Two people were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries over the weekend after a boating accident on Lake Burton.
Georgia Department of Natural Resources game wardens responded to the single-boat incident Saturday afternoon, August 5.
According to Georgia DNR Law Enforcement Division spokesperson Mark McKinnon, the vessel struck a sea wall on Burton Island.
The two male occupants were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Lake Burton is a 2,775-acre reservoir located in Rabun County.
