Two sent to hospital after rear-end wreck in Baldwin

Two people were sent to the hospital following a rear-end wreck on GA 365 at the Duncan Bridge Road intersection in Baldwin. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene around 7:54 p.m. Saturday, July 15.

Troopers from Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa investigated the wreck. According to their preliminary report, 22-year-old Bryant Dale Palmer of Monroe was driving a Honda Civic south on GA 365.

“At the intersection with Duncan Bridge Road (GA 384), Mr. Palmer failed to maintain his lane and struck the rear of a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country,” the report states.

The wreck injured the van driver, 52-year-old Rodolphe Drolet and his passenger, 61-year-old William T. Thompson, both of Alto. Habersham EMS transported them to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with suspected minor injuries.

Palmer was not injured in the wreck.

Troopers charged Drolet for not having insurance. The GSP report did not state whether any charges are pending against Palmer.
