State fire investigators are working with local authorities to determine what caused a double fatal fire over the weekend in Hiawassee.
The victims – a male and female – were found dead at the scene of a completely destroyed mobile home at 110 Leisure Meadow Lane on Friday.
“One additional male escaped with minor injuries,” says State Safety and Fire Commissioner John King.
The names of the victims have not been released.
The State Fire Investigations Unit, Towns County Sheriff’s Office, and the Towns County Fire Department are investigating the deadly blaze.
