Two men have been charged in connection with the murder of an Athens man that occurred in April of 2024.
After an extensive investigation, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department served arrest warrants on Jutaraz Morton, 24, of Winder, and Timia Cobbs, 25, of Athens, for their alleged role in the fatal shooting of Nigel Turner. Turner died after he was shot on April 17.
Morton and Cobbs, who were located and arrested on January 22, have been charged with malice murder, felony murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
Morton also faces three counts of possession of a firearm/knife during the commission of certain felonies.
