Two juveniles airlifted to hospital after rear-end crash in White County

A three-vehicle crash in White County sent eight people to the hospital, including two juveniles who were airlifted from the scene.

The accident happened just after noon Saturday on State Route 11 at Joe Turner Road south of Cleveland.

The Georgia State Patrol says the driver of a northbound 2005 Toyota Scion XA was following too closely and rear-ended a van stopped behind a pickup that was attempting to turn. The impact caused the van to rear-end the truck.

The wreck injured four juvenile passengers in the Scion and its driver, identified as 30-year-old Heather Morgan of Clermont. One of the juveniles was seriously injured and was flown to the hospital. EMS took the others to the hospital by ambulance.

Two juveniles in the van were injured along with its driver, 32-year-old Samantha Loggins of Sautee Nacoochee. EMS took her and one of the injured juveniles to the hospital by ambulance. The other juvenile was airlifted.

The pickup truck driver and his passenger sustained minor injuries but were not transported to the hospital, according to the State Patrol. They’re identified as 53-year-old Gary Olsen and 55-year-old Tamera Olsen both of Cleveland.

Troopers from Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville worked the accident. They say charges are pending.
