Two jailed on child sex crime charges

A Rabun County man and woman are in jail charged with sex crimes against children. 22-year-old Cody Whitmire and 52-year-old Tamtha Watts, both of Tiger, were arrested Tuesday.

Whitmire is charged with six counts of child molestation, one count of exploitation of a child and one count of statutory rape. Watts is charged with one count of child molestation.

The two were arrested following a month long joint investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Cleveland Office and the GBI Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit.

Whitmire is being held in the Rabun County jail on $63,000 bond. Watts is in jail on $7,500
