Two people are recovering from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident Friday near Clarkesville. SFC Chad Johnson with the Toccoa Post of the Georgia State Patrol says 58-year old Phillip Green of Demorest and 23-year old Laura Palacios of Suwanee were injured when their vehicles collided shortly after 4 p.m.
Johnson says Palacios was traveling west on Antioch Church Road in a Honda Civic when she pulled into the path of Green’s Ford 500 pickup truck as it traveled north on SR 15/US 441.
Green was transported by ambulance to Habersham Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Johnson says Palacios had visible injuries but refused treatment.
Palacios is charged with failure to yield.
It was the second accident on Antioch Church Road in as many days
On Thursday, a driver ran down an embankment and overturned on Antioch at Hwy. 17. Witnesses say the car “sailed through the air” before coming to rest on its side. The driver suffered non-life threatening, upper extremity injuries and was transported to Stephens County Hospital for treatment.
