A two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Demorest sent two people to the hospital.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Patti Chastain, 40, of Dillard, was driving a Toyota Corolla east on Old Cleveland Road when she failed to yield at the intersection with Cannon Bridge Road/Ga. 105 and pulled into the path of a southbound GMC Sierra.
The Sierra struck the Corolla, causing Chastain’s vehicle to overturn, trapping her inside. It took firefighters about 20 minutes to free the injured Chastain from her vehicle.
The driver of the pickup truck, 40-year-old Alvin Crews of Cleveland, was also injured.
Habersham EMS transported both patients by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainsville for treatment.
