Two Gainesville residents jailed for alleged heroin trafficking

Heroin MANS Unit agents say they seized during a traffic stop in Hall County on March 12.

A traffic stop last week in Hall County turned into a major drug haul, authorities say. Deputies reported finding more than 114 grams of heroin in a car they stopped for a traffic violation March 12 on I-985 at Mundy Mill Road.

Agents with the Gainesville/Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad arrested the driver and passenger and charged them with trafficking. Lyedrekus Onetaye Bailey, 32, and Teaona Nicole Deck, 28, both of Gainesville, were booked into the Hall County Jail. As of March 18, both suspects remained in jail without bond.

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $34,200. The MANS Unit is still investigating the case.
