Two candidates are vying for one spot on the Clarkesville City Council in the city’s upcoming special election. Terry Gladden and Jerry Hamilton both qualified to run for the Post 3 council seat vacated by Casey Ramsey earlier this year.

Ramsey resigned from the council in February after relocating to Dalton, Georgia. He served on the Clarkesville City Council for nine years.

The special election will be held on June 20, 2017 at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center.
