Twin Rivers Challenge a Success

Many claim the name couldn’t have been more perfect, and for the bikers who participated, The Twin Rivers Challenge Bike Race was just that – a challenge… and they can’t wait to do it again next year! With over a 100 riders, it was hard to believe this was the first race for the school. Riders arrived from all around to take on the challenge which made it a big success!

The scenic ride through the beautiful Northeast Georgia area made the race one to remember. Planned by avid local cyclist, riders could choose three route options: 115k, 72k, and a 37k.  All routes began and ended at the Tallulah Falls School upper campus. Riders started their trek  at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31st. Members of the Tallulah Falls Opry played from 8:00 am to 10:00 a.m., with the Heroes in Force there to cheer on the riders and pose for photos.

Four rest and recovery stops known as SAG (Support and Gear) stops were available at different spots along the route. Each SAG was managed by students and faculty of Tallulah Falls School including TFS’ Juniorettes, the Board of Trustees, and the Boys and Girls Basketball Teams. Gatorade, various fruits, and protein bars for the riders were offered as well as First Aid.
