(Cleveland)- White County Commission Chairman Travis Turner has been tapped to help lead the efforts of the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia.

ACCG President and Bartow County Sole County Commissioner Steve Taylor advised Chairman Turner that he has been appointed to serve as Vice-Chair of the General County Government Policy Committee for the 2021-22 policy year.

Taylor said Turner was selected based upon staff recommendations, active participation with the association, and demonstrated leadership.

This summer, ACCG  policy committees will be conducting subcommittee meetings and plan to hold one meeting in North Georgia. In addition, Turner will serve on the ACCG’s Policy Council, which is tasked with reviewing recommendations from the seven policy committees. The Council helps formulate official ACCG positions on legislation and other timely issues impacting Georgia counties.
