In a three-night run, the Tallulah Falls School Players presented Tuck Everlasting to an appreciative audience of friends and family.
The music-centric production is based on the 1975 children’s book by Natalie Babbitt about a young girl who stumbles upon a family’s stunning secret and a spring whose waters grant eternal life.
“So many people helped us stage this musical, and it was a real collaborative effort between our music, dance, and theatre departments,” says Performing Arts Director Jonathan Roberts. “It was a super start to what we hope and plan to bring to our TFS surrounding community.”
Roberts, who directed the production, says “it felt like the stars aligned for this show” with all the right people in the right places.
“The students did a terrific job bringing a beautiful and moving story to the stage. We are all so very grateful for working with this material.”
Primary characters included Josh Jackson as Jesse Tuck, Anna-Reese Akers as Mae Tuck, Reagan Brode as Miles Tuck, Benjamin Okoronkwo as Angus Tuck, Caroline Smith as Winnie Foster, Colton Augustine as the main the yellow suit, Linda Wang as the mother, Sarah Wheeler as Nana, Lizzy Wanner as Hugo, Joel Bourlet as Constable Joe.
Ensemble actors included Piper Allen, Emma Barron, Jovana Dermanovic, Mei Hui Devalasco, Marina Dumas, Ava Hamon, Kalleigh Hartzog, Flannery Hogan, Wyatt Keeny, Madeline Martin, Lily Turpin, Doris Wang, Ava Wehrstein, Ruichen Zhang.
Orchestra players included Mary Lauren Keeny on keyboard one, Mia Hamon on keyboard two, Kexin [Amy] Ma on flute, Vy Vo on guitar and Sarah Wheeler on fiddle.
Roberts directed the play and Mary Lauren Keeny was music director. The musical was choreographed by Francie Keene
