The Truett McConnell women’s soccer team has been picked to finish third in the preseason Appalachian Athletic Conference Coaches’ Poll as released by the league office Monday.
Reinhardt was picked to win the conference almost unanimously, garnering eight of the nine first place votes after a 17-3-1 campaign in 2015 that saw the Eagles finish ranked No. 25 in the nation. Columbia was given the final first place vote and finished one point ahead of the Bears.
Tennessee Wesleyan and St. Andrews rounded out the top five.
TMU is coming off of a 12-9-1 season a year ago that included a trip to the AAC Championship game, where they lost to Reinhardt.
The season opens with a trip to Campbellsville on Tuesday, August 23, at 1 p.m.

Union got eight first place votes to earn the preseason No. 1, while Bryan got the other two first place nods. Reinhardt, Tennessee Wesleyan and St. Andrews were voted to complete the top five.
TMU and head coach Rob Miller are coming off of a 10-6-3 record a year ago, which culminated in the program’s first AAC semifinal appearance.
The season opens in eight days as the Bears host Georgia Military at the TMU Soccer Complex. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. in Cleveland.
