Truett McConnell University is making it easier for public safety personnel to pursue a college degree.
Starting this fall, the college will offer a fifty-percent discount to public safety personnel pursuing a Criminal Justice degree.
TMU Director of Finical Development Dr. Gary Jarnagin made the announcement Tuesday during the 5th annual Truett McConnell University Leadership Luncheon.
TMU offers to help pay down student loan debt for alumni missionaries
Several hundred community and business leaders attended the luncheon on the TMU campus, according to WRWH Radio. It was a time for the university to thank the community for their support and inform them about what’s happening on the Cleveland college campus.
TMU President Dr. Emir Caner (pictured above) expressed his appreciation for the community’s support of the recent Faith and Freedom event. The featured guest speaker was former Reagan national security staff member Col. Oliver North. The event raised $175,000 for student mission trips. Twenty-five percent of those funds will go to TMU alumni who are on the mission field to help pay down their student loan debt.
“If they (alumni) are on the mission field and have student loan debt they can apply to our office and we will hand away almost 43-thousand dollars to pay down their student loans,” Caner said.
Milestone graduation
TMU will hold spring commencement services Saturday, May 12. The featured speaker is Fox News commentator and author Todd Starnes. During the ceremony, TMU will confer degrees on the college’s first ever Master of Business Administration graduates.
