Truett golf teams complete community service building project

The Truett McConnell golf teams took part in a building project as part of the Truett McConnell athletic department’s continued involvement in community service on Saturday.

“It is such a blessing to have young men and women on my team who enjoy serving others and show the love of Christ,” said TMU head golf coach Steve Patton. “I had a lot of fun working arm-in-arm with these student-athletes on this project.”

Several of the men’s golfers took part in building a deck for a local family at their household, while several of the women’s golfers took the children to lunch and to play.

The project wouldn’t have been possible without the help of many different groups, including Bruce Construction, Cleveland Wood Preserve and Shoal Creek Supply, Inc. Bruce Construction, owned by TMU golfer Dalton Bruce‘s father, helped to design and build the deck. They are a licensed builder for residential and light commercial buildings and is located in Jasper, Georgia. Cleveland Wood Preserve helped to donate the building materials for the deck, and Shoal Creek Supply, out of Dawsonville, donated material as well.
