Tire blowout causes truck to veer off road, strike tree

A woman was injured Tuesday night when a tire blowout caused a truck loaded with concrete blocks to crash off Ga. 365 southbound, according to Habersham County Emergency Services.

The wreck occurred just after 6:40 p.m. near Cody Road. The driver of the Ford F-350 flatbed truck reported that the tire blew, causing the truck to veer off the roadway and strike a tree.

The female driver was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville with complaints of injuries.

The southbound lanes of Ga. 365 were closed from 7:40 p.m. to 8:05 p.m. for truck removal. The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
