Two busted for trafficking meth after Rabun traffic stop

Deputies charged two North Carlina residents with trafficking meth after a sheriff’s K-9 sniffed out the drugs during a recent traffic stop in Rabun County.

According to a post on the Rabun County Sheriff’s Facebook page, a deputy pulled over the vehicle for a traffic violation on May 19. During the stop, the officer grew suspicious and deployed K-9 Doug.

The dog gave a positive alert, indicating the presence of illegal narcotics. While conducting a probable cause search, officers reportedly found over two pounds of methamphetamine and other drug-related objects.

Deputies arrested Curtis Earl Guest and Nicole Michelle Shawger both of Franklin, North Carolina, and charged them with trafficking methamphetamine.

They were booked into the Rabun County Detention Center.
