White County deputies arrested 32-year-old Demetric T. Williams on July 13 after conducting a traffic stop on Highway 129 at Everett Drive. During the stop, deputies deployed a K-9 unit that sniffed out drugs, the sheriff’s office says.

“The search resulted in locating approximately 120 grams of methamphetamine, one scale, and user amount of cocaine,” says White County Chief Deputy Clay Hammond.

Deputies charged Williams with trafficking methamphetamine and a parole violation. As of Friday afternoon, July 15, he remained in the White County Detention Center without bond.

Hammond credits the deputies’ “proactive approach” for this and other recent drug arrests.

“Their dedication to our community and this office yields these outstanding results,” he says.
