Traffic stop leads to arrests in Carnesville

A traffic stop on Highway 145 in Carnesville last week led to the arrests of several individuals, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for several violations on Friday. Jan. 24, including a broken windshield, an off-road illuminated light bar and a broken tail light.

During the stop, the driver, later identified as Jeremy David Carter, 54, of Eastanollee, allegedly admitted to having prior charges related to drugs and DUI. Police say he voluntarily consented to a search of his vehicle.

While searching the vehicle, deputies discovered a clear container containing a crystal-like substance, a bag with additional crystal-like substance, two green glass smoking devices, hypodermic needles and a quantity of suspected marijuana.

As a result of the search, the following individuals were arrested:

  • Jeremy David Carter, 54, Eastanollee
    Charges: possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects
  • Torey Breahnah Rodgers, 21, Toccoa
    Charges: possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects
  • Kazlynn Reanna Williams, 19, Royston
    Charges: possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana (less than an ounce), possession of drug-related objects

All three individuals were transported to the Franklin County Jail without incident.
