Track & Field opens season with Last Chance Invite in Alabama; Several set indoor records

The Tallulah Falls track and field team opened the season in Birmingham, Alabama, in the Last Chance Invite on Saturday. Throughout the day, several athletes set new school indoor records.

Top-20 finishes include:

Girls 4×400 relay (5th)
Julianne Shirley – High Jump (7th)
Jace Ibemere – Triple Jump (8th)
Tyler Brown – Pole Vault (10th)
Jace Ibemere – Long Jump (15th)
Boys 4×400 relay (16th)
Girls 4×800 relay (17th)
Among the school indoor records set, those include:

Tyler Brown – 7.50 in 60 meter (8-year old record)
Dani Prince – 8.80 in 60 meter (broke her own record)
Jace Ibemere – 8.62 in 60 meter (broke Prince’s above record just two minutes later)
Walker Bailey – 4:44.42 in 1600 meter
Girls 4×200 relay of Jace Ibemere, Sofia Rueda, Dani Prince, Julianne Shirley – 1:56.74
Boys 4×200 relay – 1:38.11
Jace Ibemere – 33-9 in Triple Jump (breaks Miriam Abdullah’s 2007 record)
