Tony Michael “Cooter” Williams, age 59 of Demorest, passed away October 18, 2021.
Born in Gastonia, North Carolina on February 20, 1962, Mr. Williams was the son of the late Cohen A. and Sylvia Violet Ledwell Williams. Mr. Williams worked for Fieldale Farms, Inc and also Turner Lumber Company. He was a member of Lowell Baptist Church and he attended Nacoochee Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams is preceded in death by sisters Brenda Sue Allen and Sue Hunter and brothers Tommy “Bubba” Williams, Gene Sweeten and Ricky Sweeten.
Survivors include his wife Sherry E. Maxwell Williams of Demorest, sons Joey Brooks, Grady Higginbotham and Daniel Higginbotham, siblings Dianne Sweeten, Mickey Sweeten, Eddie Sweeten, Stevie Allen, Amanda Allen and Frankie Allen, grandchildren Austin, Alichia and Nathan Brooks, Bridgett and Jade Williams, Nathan, Connor, Troy, Angel, T.J., Roxanna, Cody, Will and J.P Higginbotham, and Danny Higginbotham, Jr., great-granddaughter Ryleigh Brooks, and nieces and nephews Cody Franklin, Nicole Franklin (Tyler Adams), Dylan and Amber Allen, Madison Smith, Bentley Adams, Braxton Dowdy and Ryleigh Adams on the way.
A private service was held.
