Tommie Leroy Sorrow, age 63, of Baldwin, Georgia gained his wings on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Sorrow was born on March 11, 1957, in Athens, Georgia to the late Norman Sorrow and Janie Ward Whisnant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Sorrow; and brother, Dennis Sorrow. Mr. Sorrow was a member of Cleveland Worship Center. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan. Tommie made sure to make time to root on his Bulldogs each Saturday during football season. Tommie had a great love for music, including classic rock. He loved his family very much, and was known to his grandchildren as “Pawpaw”. He had a great love for his wife, Lynn; whom he married on December 12, 2012 (12-12-12) at 12:12 p.m. Tommie retired from North Georgia Gutters and Garage Doors with over 20 years of service. After retirement, he continued to service homes and was known for his great customer service.
Survivors include his loving wife, Davida Lynn Wilbanks Sorrow, of Baldwin; daughter, Brittany Sorrow, of Athens; son, Cody Sorrow, Kansas City, MS; Joshua Ward, of Athens; step-children, Lisa Velt Skinner, of Cleveland; Mark Casey Velt, of Sweetwater, TN; sister, Susan Hobbs, of Ila; Greta Blackwell, of Watkinsville; brother, Donny Sorrow, of Athens; granddaughter, Rylee Sorrow, of Athens; Phoenix Rayne Congolse; several step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private Graveside Services will be held at the B.C. Grant Baptist Church Cemetery.
