” I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” – Jeremiah 31:25
This morning came too early. Maybe it did for some of you as well. I felt I had just fallen asleep and my alarm was chirping in my ear. It isn’t a physical tiredness, and not necessarily an emotional tiredness, it is a spiritual tiredness. I feel tired from fighting the “good fight.” Do you ever reach the point when you do not know if you have it in you to fight anymore?
But there is really good news. As I opened my Bible this morning, my eyes fell on this scripture in Jeremiah. Peace flowed and I felt renewed. God’s Living Word rejuvenates, reconnects, and revitalizes us. It is not outdated but very relevant to your life and mine. God speaks through His Word.
The enemy is always out there, prowling around, looking for opportunities. Even as I type those words, my heart is encouraged, and I want to encourage you as well. Do you realize, if we were easy to break, the enemy wouldn’t have any desire to go before God to request the testing of our faith. Because we are a force to be reckoned with, the enemy is interested in giving us trouble, obstacles, trials, sorrow. The joy of God is that He gives us what we need to succeed. God has His hand on us regardless of what the world dishes out; regardless of what Satan throws our way. He will turn your sorrow and my sorrow around.
Today, if you are struggling with life, I want to encourage you. It doesn’t matter how many times we are knocked down, God has given us the power to stand up. No matter how many times we’ve been blown off course, God has given us direction to get back on the right track. No matter how many times we’ve been pushed around, stepped on, and broken, God will pull us up, fill us up, and mend the pieces back together.
So do not grow weary. Do not be discouraged. You are the child of the King of kings. What is within you is far more powerful than anything this world has to put upon us. Today may just be the day you receive your answer from God. Keep looking up!
