A Toccoa man was taken into custody in South Carolina earlier this week after allegedly violating probation and possessing drugs, according to the Toccoa Police Department.

An elusive suspect, Jarod BaShawn Pulliam of Toccoa, was arrested in South Carolina with drugs on his person after being wanted out of Stephens County for an alleged probation violation, according to Toccoa Police Chief Bruce Carlisle.

“They’d been looking for him for the last week,” Carlisle said Friday. “…they never could find the guy. He just kept bouncing around, but they finally got him.”

Pulliam now has been charged with possession and intent to distribute fentanyl as well as probation violation.

“They had to use some technology to find him,” said Carlisle, who wasn’t aware of the type of technology used to capture Pulliam.

Pulliam is believed to be in custody in South Carolina until he faces charges pending in Stephens County.
