The Truett McConnell women’s soccer team was named the 2016 NAIA Women’s Soccer Champions of Character Team as announced by the national office and the National Championship Tournament Committee.
The award was given at the conclusion of the National Championship earlier this month.
The women’s soccer team made it to the semifinals of the AAC tournament earlier this year, defeating nationally-ranked and top-seeded Reinhardt University in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Teams that receive this prestigious award demonstrate in every day decisions integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership These institutions and athletic programs strive for excellence in and out of competition and are part of communities throughout the country dedicated to character-driven intercollegiate athletics.
