The Truett McConnell cross country teams ran in the Toccoa Falls Invitational Saturday morning with the women placing first and the men second in the team standings. The men fell just three points out of first place.
Ivie Nobles set a new TMU record in a 5K race with a winning time of 18:57, giving her her third win of the 2016 season. Her three individual wins are the most by a TMU women’s cross country runner in school history as well.
Juan Ortega became just the second TMU men’s cross country runner in school history to break the 26-minute mark in a first place finishing time of 25:59. Tyler Barber finished one second behind in second with a time of 26:00.
The teams will now prepare for the AAC Championships in one week in Montreat, N.C.
