Authorities have released the names of three family members found dead following a suspected double-murder suicide in west Hall County. The victims, Ruth and Ruby Newberry, 57, were twin sisters. The person believed responsible for their deaths is 24-year-old Andrew Newberry, Ruth Newberry’s son.
Andrew died as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says. The bodies of the two women are undergoing autopsies to determine their exact cause of death.
The Newberrys were found dead Wednesday in their home in the 4200 block of Holland Drive. Authorities say the three of them lived together. Criminal investigators were called to the scene just before 11:30 a.m. on December 21. Deputies found Ruth and Ruby Newberry dead in a bedroom; Andrew Newberry’s body was found in the living room.
All three died on December 21, a sheriff’s office spokesperson says. Investigators have not determined a motive in the slayings. The case remains under investigation.
