Three arrested in multi-state drug trafficking bust

Three people are in jail charged in connection with an alleged multi-state drug trafficking organization with ties to Northeast Georgia.

34-year old Rebecca Diane Davis and 40-year old Christopher Rose, both of Hiawassee, were arrested Wednesday along with 22-year old Sierra Paige Lingerfelt of Hayesville, North Carolina. They were picked up after the Towns County Sheriff’s Office and Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) served a search warrant on Davis’ residence at 1430 Overlook Trail.

According to an ARDEO press release, “In just the past 6 months, this group is responsible for trafficking multiple kilograms of methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, and pharmaceuticals in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.”

The release states Towns County authorities seized methamphetamine, heroin, alprazolam and marijuana at Davis’ residence. The street value of the drugs seized during the search is $1200.

Davis, Rose and Lingerfelt are charged with possession with intent to distribute, methamphetamine, heroin, alprazolam and marijuana. They were transported to the Towns County Detention Center. The investigation continues and additional arrests and seizures are expected.
