Deputies arrested and charged three Northeast Georgia residents with trafficking heroin and other drug offenses following a traffic stop in Habersham County on Wednesday.
When officers pulled over the vehicle on May 13 on Wyly Street in Cornelia, they reportedly discovered a trafficking amount of heroin, methamphetamine, and other related items. They asked the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) to assist in their narcotics investigation. As a result of that investigation, deputies arrested Eric Lee Martin, 27, of Mt. Airy; Tyler Lee Gibson, 23, of Dahlonega; and Brianne Marie Ross-Rummel, 21, of Gillsville.
In addition to the trafficking charge, deputies charged all three with possession of methamphetamine. They also charged Martin with possession of a controlled substance and failure to stop for a stop sign.
Martin, Gibson, and Ross-Rummel were booked in the Habersham County Jail. As of May 14, they remained in jail without bond.
The investigation is still active, according to ARDEO Special Agent in Charge Trent Hillsman.
