It is the third annual Community Housing Festival hosted by the Gainesville-Hall County’s Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH) Team with the City of Gainesville and Hall County Government. The event will be on Saturday, April 20, at Longwood Park from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
There will be free food, kids’ games, and prizes as organizers share housing assistance opportunities and promote workforce development. People can come and learn about services and programs offered by local agencies/nonprofits (i.e. public transportation, Meals on Wheels, advocacy, seniors, disabled, etc.) and what resources are available to assist the public with home repairs, paying rent, and utilities, conserving energy, plus credit counseling, resume building, etc.
Also available to help with information will be lenders, builders, insurance agents, and other representatives. They can answer questions and distribute important information.
Longwood Park is located at 20 Pearl Nix Parkway, Gainesville.
