One of the favorite events of Halloween in Downtown Cornelia is the annual Halloween costume contest. From children to adults, year after year, it is the highlight of the night, and this year was no exception. Participants filled the streets with fun and creative costumes in all different themes. This year’s judges had a difficult time determining the winners. Alice Dover, Brenda Williams, and Justin Reeder based their decisions on the looks of the costume as well as the creativity.
The Third Place Winners
This group costume took third place this year. The Crawford family chose to be horror movie icons. Each member picked a character from a horror movie. They were one big scary family!
The Second Place Winner
Is this what doctors used to look like? They did during the plague! It’s no wonder so many people are scared of them. William Mitchell turned many heads with a very unusual costume! The amount of detail in the clothing, mask, and accessories was quite “sickening.”
The First Place Winner
Hayden Jordan delivered with this homemade costume. A popular drink with children today that looked like the bottles on the shelf. Out of all the costumes, his was the most “refreshing.”
