FBC Cornelia to Host Community-Wide Thanksgiving Meal
Come one, come all. The FBC Cornelia, located at 325 Oak Street in the Family Ministry Center Gym (across from the Cornelia Fire Department, will open its doors to the community for a meal of thanksgiving and fellowship on Wednesday evening, November 25, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the gymnasium.
People of all economic backgrounds, races, church affiliations, no church affiliations, ages and colors are invited to come “break bread together.” “We especially want the physically and spiritually hungry to come,” said Shirley Dillard, one of the coordinators for the event.
A meal that will be hard to pass up, the menu will be turkey, dressing, sweet potato soufflé, cranberry salad, green beans and rolls. A dessert bar of homemade goodies prepared by volunteers will give the finishing touch to this meal.
Volunteers are needed. There are places for everyone to volunteer to serve all day on Wednesday. Call the church office at 706-778-4412 to register to volunteer.
This meal is sponsored by the FBC Cornelia in cooperation with the Lord’s Help Soup Kitchen and other area churches. There is no charge to attend. Your presence is your pay. RSVPs are not required. “We hope the whole community will join us on Wednesday night for this supper,” stated Pastor Eric Spivey. “We’ll be looking for you.”
