TFS sixth grader donates to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta

Mason Dawe, a sixth grader from Demorest, celebrated his 12th birthday in a special way. Instead of birthday gifts, Mason asked his friends to make a monetary contribution to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

A week later, Mason traveled with his mother, Christan Tanner, to deliver more than $700 to the medical center that serves children from across the state, region and nation.

Instead of birthday gifts, Mason Dawe, a Tallulah Falls School sixth grader from Demorest, asked friends to consider donating to an area children’s hospital. Dawe delivered more than $700 to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta recently.

“Mason’s action is a perfect example of a student living up to the mission of Tallulah Falls School…he is not only getting an excellent education, but, is developing the character necessary to make a difference in the world,” said President and Head of School Larry A. Peevy.

Mason made the donation in honor of his cousin Kennedy Crawford and friend Brooklyn Littleton, both of whom have been treated at CHOA.

Mason is the great-grandson of the late Larry W. Earle, who attended Tallulah Falls School in the 1950s.
