TFS senior breaks all-time basketball scoring record

Senior Matthew Weidner of Clarkesville gets his game on in a big way. His knack for the net paid off on Feb. 4 at the 8A Region playoff game versus Riverside, scoring 25 points, bringing his career total to 1,365, breaking the all-time scoring record for the Tallulah Falls School varsity boys basketball program.

“I am very grateful for my four years at TFS and the opportunities basketball has given me,” Weidner said. “It is an honor and a blessing to be a part of Indian basketball history.”

Coach Cody Coleman said it had been a privilege to coach the senior.

“Players with his talent, skill, and work ethic do not come around often,” Coleman said. “He has an exceptional ability to score and is a great all-around player. Off the court, Matthew’s character matches his abilities on the court. He is an outstanding young man and he has a very bright future in front of him.”
