The #1-ranked Indians played to yet another shutout, this time a 6-0 clean sheet Tuesday on the road at Barrow Arts & Sciences Academy. The win secures the first-ever region title for the boys soccer program.
“The boys knew the importance of winning this game and showed up to the challenge,” says coach Jeremy Stille.
After a slow start, Austin Ball and Landon Hall combined for a pair of goals, and Jake Hall added a third before halftime with a delicate chip over the keeper from a through ball by Luis Varano Pastor.
In the second half, Ball completed a hat trick with 2 goals, then played a beautiful ball to split the defense that allowed Pastor to run on and score.
“Just a great effort by the team where everyone played ample minutes, being down three subs” adds Stille. “Huge congratulations to the team on their first-ever region championship and to the school, families, and fans that have shown continuous support.”
Ball closed with 3 goals and 2 assists. Landon Hall had a goal and an assist, as did Pastor. Jake Hall had a goal and Clay Kafsky an assist, while Kelton Reynolds recorded another shutout and had 12 saves.
TFS is now 12-0 overall, and are 8-0 in region play. The shutout was the 10th of the season, and Reynolds’ 12 saves gave him a single-season school record of 60, tied with Cainan Yaskiewicz (’21)
