A plan to move forward with a commencement ceremony for the Tallulah Falls School Class of 2020 is on the calendar.
President and Head of School Larry A. Peevy sent a letter to families of graduating seniors on May 20 confirming that plans are in motion to host an on-campus event at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 19.
“Tallulah Falls School has a rich history of academic traditions spanning more than a century. During that time, we have watched thousands of students from local, regional and international locations graduate and matriculate to college and successful careers,” Peevy stated. “While it will look a little different this year, we are excited to announce plans for a Graduation Celebration that will honor the Class of 2020!”
The event will be limited to graduates and immediate family members only, with specific details yet to be determined. The school will follow all state guidelines for gatherings to include social distancing and all other COVID-19 health restrictions.
“While we want to celebrate our graduating seniors, we also want to ensure the safety of all in attendance,” Peevy added.
School administrators are working on plans to include boarding students in the event via a live stream broadcast.
Additional details will be made available as plans are confirmed.
