Jo Kimbrel has been named the Middle School Athletic Director at Tallulah Falls School.
Kimbrel, who came to TFS prior to the 2021-22 academic year from Deerfield-Windsor School in Albany, spent the past year managing many roles, including that of assistant volleyball coach, JV girls basketball head coach/assistant girls varsity coach, and middle school and high school track & field assistant coach.
“I am excited for the opportunity to contribute even more to the TFS family,” states Kimbrel. “My goal is to continue the greatness already established and build upon it.”
Kimbrel teaches physical education at TFS, as she has done at Deerfield-Windsor and Southwest Georgia Academy. She has coached softball, basketball, and track and field in her career, and also coached at Grace Christian Academy and South Walton High School. One of Kimbrel’s distinctions in coaching is heading up the Red team in the GISA “red-versus-blue” All-Star game in softball in the 2018-19 year. She received her bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Albany State University.
Kimbrel will serve as the Athletic Director for the middle school, will be the head coach for middle school volleyball, and will remain in an assistant coaches role for varsity girls basketball and varsity volleyball.
“Coach Kimbrel is energetic, takes initiative, is a people person, and clearly understands the importance of interscholastic athletics in the life of a young person,” states Tallulah Falls Athletic Director Scott Neal. “TFS will thrive with Coach Kimbrel leading the middle school athletic program.”
“We are excited to welcome Coach Jo in this elevated role at the middle school,” says President and Head of School Larry A. Peevy. “Her expertise lends itself to the position; we look forward to seeing how she will enhance the athletic experience for our middle school students.”
