TFS MS wraps up regular season with first place finishes

The Tallulah Falls Middle School had a great showing this weekend at their final regular-season meet of the 2020-21 season. Both teams placed first in their respective divisions.

Many swimmers swam to personal best times in their individual events. These swimmers included Olivia Bonner (50 Free), Penny Damron (50 Free, 100 Free), Carsyn Griffis (50 Back), Mia Hamon (50 Free, 50 Back), Olivia Henderson (50 Back, 50 Fly), Molly Rickman (50 Free), Emily Shoemaker (50 Free, 50 Breast), Adelaide Tatum (100 IM, 50 Breast), Cole Borchers (50 Free), Nick Edenfield (50 Free), Harry Goldfine (50 Free), Charlie Harris (100 Free), Jedd Thomas (100 IM, 50 Breast), Zach Woodworth (50 Breast), and Walker Wright (100 Free, 50 Breast).

Several swimmers swam to top-3 finishes in their individual events at this weekend’s competition. These swimmers include Walker Wright, who finished 3rd in the 100-yard freestyle, Zach Woodworth, who finished 2nd the 50-yard breaststroke, Jedd Thomas, who finished 2nd in the 100-yard IM and 1st in the 50-yard breaststroke, David Plaisted, who finished 2nd in the 50-yard backstroke, Landon Miller, who finished 3rd in the 50-yard backstroke, Charlie Harris, who finished 2nd in the 100-yard freestyle, Harry Goldfine, who finished 3rd in the 50-yard breaststroke, Nick Edenfield, who finished 2nd in the 50-yard butterfly, Cole Borchers, who placed 3rd in the 50-yard freestyle and 1st in the 50-yard backstroke, Penny Damron, who place 3rd in the 100-yard freestyle, Carsyn Griffis, who placed 1st in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 50-yard backstroke, Mia Hamon, who placed 2nd in the 50-yard backstroke, Olivia Henderson, who placed 1st in the 50-yard butterfly and 3rd in the 50-yard freestyle, Molly Rickman who placed 2nd in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 50-yard breaststroke, Adelaide Tatum, who placed 2nd in the 100-yard IM and 3rd in the 50-yard breastroke, and Lily Turpin, who finished 1st in the 100-yard freestyle.

All TFS Middle School swim relays placed in the top 3 spots in their respective events.

“We are so very proud of our swimmers and are looking forward to the GISA Middle School State Championships,” says coach Rachel Nichols.

The meet is Saturday, January 30 at the Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center where 20 Tallulah Falls Middle School swimmers have swum to at least one qualifying time in an individual event for this competition.
