Tallulah Falls led wire-to-wire in a Saturday night matchup with Athens Christian at George Walton Academy in the region semifinals. While it was a low-scoring affair, TFS led throughout and held off a late charge by the opposition in a 39-36 final. Tallulah Falls had a 10-point cushion before Athens Christian hit several big shots to make it close.
Anfernee Hanna once again paced the offense with 15 points, as the Indians stamped a region championship matchup with George Walton, the host school for the tournament. With the win, TFS has assured a home playoff game in the state tournament’s first round. No matter the region title game outcome, the Indians would either claim the top seed in the region or be runner-up, with both earning a home playoff game to start out.
#10-ranked TFS is now 19-4 on the season, which marks the most wins for the program since a 24-win season in 2016-17. The Indians will take on George Walton on February 16 in the region title game at 7 PM.
