TFS girls finish 14th, boys 26th at state meet

TFS wrapped up the track and field season on Saturday in the GHSA Class 1A Private State Championships at McEachern. In the final day of action, Macy Murdock became a state runner-up in the 300 meter hurdles, and placed fourth in the 100 meter hurdles.

The girls 4×200 relay team came in eighth, and the girls 4×400 group finished seventh overall to close out Saturday’s action. Overall, the teams saw some personal bests, school records, and great finishes.

Murdock was state runner-up (300 MH) and fourth place (100 MH), while Julianne Shirley was 11th in the high jump and 13th in the 400 prelims. Sam Ketch came in seventh in the shot put, and several relay teams competed.

The girls 4×800 finished 14th overall, and the boys 4×800 was 16th. The boys 4×100 team was 16th in the prelims as well.

The relay teams were comprised of Caroline Ball, Shirley, Molly Mitchell, Murdock, Dani Prince, Jace Ibemere, Miranda Chapa, Kailyn Neal, and Breelyn Wood for the girls. For the boys, the relay team members included Nana Amankwah, Blair Moore, Nnamdi Ezunu, KC Respress, Jackson Shadburn, Timothy Beck, and Jackson Cording.

The girls finished 14th in the state, while the boys came in 26th.
