TFS Coaches select Indians of the Month for January

Tallulah Falls School coaches have named four Indians of the Month for January.

MS BOY

Seventh grader Tyler Popham of Demorest was named an Indian of the Month by middle school basketball ‘A’ coach Lowell Hamilton. “Tyler has been a solid player for us all season,” Hamilton said. “He has always tried to do the things that would make his team better, both offensively and defensively, without complaint. He is a valuable asset to our basketball team.”

MS GIRL

Middle school cheering coach Jenny Richardson selected seventh grader Katherine Tench of Clarkesville as an Indian of the Month. “Katherine is so excited the minute she walks into cheer practice and onto the sideline with her team,” Richardson said. “Katherine enjoys leading the cheers and inspires her teammates to work hard. She shows great passion and works hard for her outstanding role as one of our captains. I’m delighted to name her our Indian of the Month.”

VARSITY BOY

Freshman John Nichols of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Month by swim coach Annette Cochran. “John placed fourth in the 200-yard individual medley and ninth in the 100-yard freestyle.,” Cochran said. “John is a part of the mens ‘A’  relay team that set out to improve their seed positions for the state meet. He is also a part of the men’s medley relay that qualified for state with a time of 1:50.20. John is a dedicated swimmer who always represents what a GREAT athlete looks like.

VARSITY GIRL

Coach Cochran also named sophomore Virginia Griswold of Clarkesville as an Indian of the Month.  “Virginia is a great swimmer who has worked hard this season to make it to the state swim finals,” Cochran said. “She qualified in the three individual events and helped the girls ‘A’ relay team qualify in all the relays. Virginia will swim the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard backstroke at the State meet.”
