Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for Aug. 7-11
Middle School Girl – Bralen Allen
Bralen Allen, a seventh grader from Clarkesville, has been named a Tallulah Falls School Indian of the Week by middle school volleyball coach Tamara Griffis. “The team played in the annual preseason volleyball jamboree in Jefferson where they split sets with Gainesville and White County, and winning both sets against Faith Christian,” Griffis sai. “Bralen played an integral part in the wins of the day. She ended up with an astounding 12 kills on the day. She also added two digs, three aces, and three blocks for the team.”
Middle School Boy – Tyler Popham
Eighth grader Tyler Popham of Demorest was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school tennis coach Lisa Wilcox. “Tyler came to the TFS middle school tennis program knowing absolutely nothing about the sport,” Wilcox said. “Tyler is always the first to practice, first at any running events we have planned for practice and first to ask, “what are we going to learn next?’ He is eager to learn all he can about the sport.”
Varsity Girl – Chloe Turpin
Chloe Turpin, a senior from Demorest, has been named an Indian of the Week by varsity volleyball coach Brandy Corbett. “Chloe, our senior setter, displayed such tenacity and grit, she helped her team overcome a 3-10 deficit in the third and deciding set against Providence Christian to win the match 2-1,” Corbett said. “This type of determination was infectious and all other members of the team responded in a similar manner. Chloe’s hard work and excellent hustle, along with that of every team member, led to the Lady Indians with a 3-1 record for the day with wins against Providence Christian, Athens Christian and Lakeview Academy.”
Varsity Boy – Zac Smith
Junior Zac Smith of Longboat Key, Florida was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity cross country coach Scott Neal. “Zac quickly adapted to cross country with stellar workouts, determination to train with focus and purpose, and unity to help the team stride for XCellence” Neal said. “Whether pushing himself physically or capturing a new set of cross country program principles, Zac has quickly immersed himself, and seeks to contribute to, a culture of GREAT.”
