Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for February 27 – March 4.
VARSITY BOY
Senior Trey Wilcox of Tallulah Falls was named an Indian of the Week by varsity tennis coach Randy Morris. “Trey is undefeated at this point in the varsity tennis season,” Morris said. “He is a dominate force on the court and an encourager off the court. His sportsmanship is readily acknowledged by his opponents.”
VARSITY GIRL
Varsity soccer coach Jane Shoemaker selected junior Michelle Thevenin of Lithonia as an Indian of the Week. “Michelle is one of the most determined young ladies I know,” Shoemaker said. “She always puts forth her best effort in all areas of her life. Michelle works hard to make the team feel like a family and never, ever gives up.”
MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL
Lucy Alexander, a seventh grader from Sautee Nacoochee, was named an Indian of the Week by track & field coach Scott Neal. “Lucy continues to prepare and race for success,” Neal said. “She won the 3200 meter event in a TFS middle school record time (12:36) and placed fourth in the 1600 meters (6:40) at the Jackson County meet. She is a team leader who models work ethic and GREAT character and strives to excel in all that she undertakes while raising the level of expectation of her peers.”
MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY
Seventh grader Aubrey Higgins or Cornelia was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school baseball coach Bobby Hammond. “Aubrey had a gusty pitching performance as he pitched the opening game of the year for us,” Hammond said. “His performance followed the dedication of the baseball complex to his grandfather, so he had a bad case of nerves. The game was tied when he was pulled for pitch count.”
