Two 15-year-old girls from White County High School have been criminally charged after allegedly injuring a classmate during a Tik Tok challenge.
The school’s resource officer was notified Monday that a student suffered possible head trauma after being involved in the challenge between the two girls. The incident occurred November 7 during a class break, says White County Sheriff Rick Kelley.
The skull-breaker challenge went viral several years ago. It involves two people asking an unsuspecting person if they can jump as high as them. When the person tries, the two who are in on the stunt kick their legs out from under them, making them crash land.
Based on the complaint, Sheriff Kelley says an investigation was conducted. As a result, the two unidentified teens were charged on November 10 with aggravated battery and disorderly conduct. Both girls have been processed and turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice, Kelley says.
Officials warn against participating in the skull breaker challenge; it’s been blamed for serious injuries and a number of deaths worldwide.
